Crafters, artists, teachers, and all other creative people rejoice! The Re:Use Market has moved to Nampa; into the previously unused back room of the White Pine to be more exact. I am really happy to see the space being used for something that promotes arts and crafts, recirculates material that would otherwise be thrown into a landfill, and provides a community gathering place where new skills are taught and creative spirits are energized…all for free (although donations are greatly appreciated to keep it running.) It definitely beats a room full of boxes and back-stock.
The Re:Use Market will not have the same hours as the White Pine, so check their website or our store window for Open House dates and times.
This weekend they will be open the following times:
Friday, July 10: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, July 11: noon to 3 p.m.
The Re:Use Market is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that collects reusable art/craft supplies and art-related materials and redistributes them to teachers, students, artists, crafters, and youth groups in our community.
The focus of The Re:Use Market is to collect scrap materials that would otherwise go to the landfill and offer them at minimal cost to individuals and organizations in the Treasure Valley for creative “recycled” art projects.

We’re having a big handmade sidewalk sale this Friday and Saturday to celebrate the arrival of the Re:Use Market!
Jewelry, housewares, bags, undies, art, and more will be marked down big time- many over 50% OFF!

The White Pine is having a $5, $10, and $20 sale today and tomorrow. Seriously, there is a lot of really good stuff on the $5 rack and it goes fast.
We’ll be open from 10-2 on July 4th. There’s time to squeeze in a stop here before your celebration of independence.
Rejoice! We are now a retailer of Jaguar Moon bags. The perfect bag to take to the Farmers’ Market. Photos coming soon.
Also, we have some new tanks and dresses that are just begging to be worn to a BBQ. Come check them out.

A MERRY MISHAP
Crocheted necklaces, bangles, and berets with a modern twist.
In store through the month of June

ABOUT A MERRY MISHAP
“I have always been a creator. My mom raised me to experiment with mediums and encouraged me to use my imagination. I spent years working with paint, clay, beads, fabric and yarn. After college and the end of art classes, I found myself wanting to work in an artistic way again. With the discovery of Etsy and the demand for unique, handmade items, I opened my shoppe.
I started A Merry Mishap in January 2007. All of my creations are crocheted or are composed of crocheted items. I make women’s accessories, necklaces, bracelets and hats.
I’m inspired by simple objects. I like finding small shapes or patterns and exaggerating their size or shape. I experiment and make up different stitches. Most of my designs come from experimentation. I will try out a shape and if I think it works, I then try it on a larger scale. I’m also inspired by the color of yarn that’s available. Sometimes the color itself will lead to ideas for different textures or shapes.
What I want for my line is to use a very old-fashioned technique to create modern accessories. I also hope that every piece finds a happy home!”

Help establish a pedestrian-friendly environment in Downtown Nampa!
If you care about establishing Downtown Nampa as a safe and pleasant community for pedestrians, show your support through our short walk around Downtown Nampa.
We’ll be covering the sidewalks of 11th to 14th Avenue and 1st to 4th Street. Depending on the numbers, we will either go as one big group, or break off into smaller groups and hit more intersections more often.
You may meet at the White Pine half an hour early to construct (peaceful) signs designed to educate motorists about Idaho laws regarding pedestrian safety.
We’ll end at Flying M Coffeegarage. Stick around for debriefing on problem areas and solutions.
